VALLEY’s run of three straight league victories ended at Butlin Road against a hard-working side.
Town had started the game the brighter though, with their best opportunity coming when David Kolodynski flashed a ball across the face of the goal – but agonisingly out of reach of a team-mate.
However Brian Haule headed the visitors into the lead when the striker beat Rugby keeper Richard Morris to Aston Goss’s free-kick.
Haule then made it two when he got a boot to a long range strike from Goss, but Town were soon back in the game thanks to a fine individual goal by Justin Marsden just before the interval.
Rugby again made the better start after the break, with Richard Blythe going close with his twenty yard strike.
However Goss restored Aylesbury’s two goal margin when he cut inside from the left to score past Morris on 63 minutes, with the home side’s best chance thereafter seeing Kolodynski forcing a good save by James Weatherill when he was through on goal.
