National Crossbow titles for Rugby duo

TWO members of Rugby Sport for the Disabled came away from the National Crossbow Federation’s National Outdoor Championships in Derby with Gold medals.

Iris Bingham, who has returned to shooting after a shoulder operation, won the NCF National Assisted Target Championship Title for the 21st time.

And Graeme Mooney also achieved a Gold medal for the first time and broke four world and four European records on his way to victory.

Mooney said: “It was impossible to shoot at times because I could not hold the bow still. At least it didn’t rain much.”

The World Crossbow Shooting Association has split the sport’s crossbow records into two sections, which now means that all of the sport’s records are up for grabs.

And as a result, Bingham also achieved a European record in the 45m target competition, beating her previous record by three points.
