Lutterworth hit ten past Ashby & Ivanhoe

Steve Carpenter 6th Nov, 2016 Updated: 10th Nov, 2016

FOOTBALL: IN-FORM Lutterworth Town picked up where they left off last weekend after producing another outstanding attacking display to thump Ashby & Ivanhoe 10-0 on Saturday.

The game started with both teams showing neat patterns of play and Lutterworth should have gone ahead within a couple of minutes.

Louis Samuels, Mark Warren and Liam Taylor made good use of the wide pitch on the left and Ashby struggled to contain them.

A long ball by Kade Lewis over the Ashby back line led to the opener with Tendai Daire slotting the ball past the visiting keeper.

Shortly after, Jordan Small hammered home from close range after the keeper parried Tendai Daire’s effort and it was Small who struck again, using his electric pace to steal in front of the on-rushing keeper and lift the ball in to the top corner of the net.

Three goals down with 45 minutes remaining, any ideas Ashby had of getting back into the game were quickly thwarted by the Swifts defensive backline.

Shaun Leslie and Luke Shaw would not be breached and they were well marshalled by Lewis and Kristian Bee and protected further by Mark Warren.

By now Samuels was pushing forward and the Lutterworth attack was causing the Ashby players no end of problems.

This gave Daire the opportunity to complete his hat-trick along with Jordan Small who also netted his third of the game.

At 6-0, Small, Lewis and Warren made way for Anthony Roberts, Ben Tye and Callum Tott and the Swifts just seemed to want more.

Daire added to his tally followed by Roberts and Keenan to make it nine and then to top off the rout Daire scored his fifth of the match and Lutterworth’s tenth.

Up next for Lutterworth is a home match against Bardon Hill on November 12.
