RUGBY’s Iris Bingham returned home from the National Crossbow Federation’s 18-metre shoot with a gold medal.
The Rugby Sport for the Disabled star was not hampered by the cold conditions at the competition which was held near Gloucester on Sunday.
Bingham topped the assisted target ladies category with 593 points out of a possible 600 and she was delighted to have secured first place.
“Despite many layers of clothing, I was so cold,” said Bingham. “However, I was pleased with my score as we were shooting at a 25cm target where the 10 ring was only 2 ½ cm in diameter. Ring tens need to be completely inside the 10 ring.”
Tony Reynolds won the ‘target gentleman’ with 525 points, Laura Peatfield scored 567 to win the target lady event.
The sports freestyle category was won by Adam Rapsey and Alan Gregory was victorious in the sport standard senior event.
