RUGBY Gaels recorded an emphatic 13 point win against James Connollys at Páirc na hÉireann in the Warwickshire Intermediate League Division 3.
Mike Cremin starred early on for Rugby when he scored a fine goal to add to two well taken points to Rugby’s early lead.
Further ppints from Alex Baalham Donaldson and Connor Shaw meant that Rugby went in at half-time five points ahead (one goal and six points (nine points) to four points.
Connollys came back at Rugby strongly in the second half and lead by one point with 20 minutes to go.
But the Gaels fought back with two goals from Connor Shaw and a nice finish from Joe O’Brien to go into a big lead. Connollys got no joy out of a solid Rugby backline and when Lewis Fairgrieves burst through to score Rugby’s fifth goal the game was put to bed.
