DAVE Kiernan was the winner of Rugby Racing Cycling Club’s final time trial of the summer season.
Fine weather greeted participants for the K11/5B race in Willoughby although a strong crosswind proved unhelpful, especially for the early numbers as the calmer conditions eventually prevailed.
The event produced a win for Kiernan with his time of 10 minutes and 21 second proving to be just five seconds outside the course record he set in September 2014.
Craig McKee was just 14 seconds behind in 10.35 and topped the first claim members points competition with another 40 points, making it a perfect score from his 18 rides for the season.
Having shown consistent improvement through the season, Ben Robson, a first season member, secured top spot in the handicap points section.
The club has just two Sunday events to complete with the 2-up ’25’ on September 11 followed by the Newnham hillclimb the following week.
