Bale buoyant after making Team GB bow

Ben Tyler 7th Aug, 2019

KICKBOXER Alannah Bale is hoping to come back fitter and stronger, after making her bow for Great Britain at the European Universities Combat Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

The Rugby resident, who trains at the English Contact Karate Association based at Newbold Rugby Club and attends Cardiff Met University, lost out in the first round of the Championships to Russia’s Mariia Sakhatskaia by a 3-0 score.

But despite defeat, Bale admits she has learnt an enormous amount from the opportunity, and looks to bounce back when competing in both kickboxing and boxing events.

Bale recently won the semi contact title in the ECKA Cup, and outside of her studies and competitive duties works as an instructor at Evolution Kickboxing Academy in Cardiff, where she gets women into the sport to build confidence and achieve their weight goals.
