RUGBY racer Mark Cossar saluted his inspirational father after becoming the most successful British grasstrack sidecar rider ever.
Cossar secured a record-breaking sixth British Masters title and passenger Gaz Williams, who is also from Rugby, his first after going the card in Swingfield, Kent.
The win was made all the made all the sweeter as Mark’s younger brother Tom Cossar, together with his passenger Wayne Rickards, climbed onto the podium in third place.
It comes just one year on from the very sad loss of their father Andy, who introduced the sport to his sons – and was always there as mechanic, driver and mentor.
“This one’s for you dad”, said Mark and Tom proudly after receiving their trophies.
Rugby-based Chris ‘Bomber’ Harris, the 38-year-old, three times British speedway champion was also celebrating after winning the solo event for the first time.
