RUGBY Junior Triathlon Club made a good impression at the Nuneaton Junior Aquathlon last week.

Taking place at Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton, the event consisted of a swim, then a track run, with four podium places being achieved by Rugby’s juniors.

Georgia Stiles achieved the only first placing of the event for the club, whilst Eleanor Griffiths and Jacob Hayward managed second-place finishes, and Scarlett Sanders a third placing.

The Tri Start category for eight-year olds was contested over a 50m swim, followed by a 400m run, in which Griffiths came second in the girls category (4:10), and Ruby Daly sixth (4:40), whilst Hayward’s 4:04 time was enough to come second in the boys event.

In the 9-10 event, starting with a 150m swim and then a 1200m run, William Dredge was fastest for the boys in fourth (10:01), whilst Nate Tilt (11:46) finished ninth and Aaron Morris (12:18) tenth.

Layla Rose was fastest for the girls, finishing seventh (10:26), followed by ninth-placed Holly Allen (10:42) and 16th-placed Niamh Daly (11:28).

In Tri Star 2 (11-12 years), Stiles was first to finish for the girls after a 200m swim and 1600m run, coming home just shy of the ten minute mark (9:56).

Sanders followed in third (11:19), Emily Hayward came fourth (11:25), Zoe Dredge eighth (13:08) and Georgina Griffiths ninth (13:12) inside the top ten.

Erin Beasley came 11th (13:47), Madison Bailey 14th (14:37), and Rebecca Exelby finished 15th (15:31), whilst George Morris was 13th as the only male competitor for the club in the category (12:45).

Finally, in Tri Star 3 (13-14 years), featuring a 300m swim and a 2400m run, Hannah Tilt was fifth for the girls (17:53), with Lucas Coates achieving the same placing in the boys category (19:02), followed by Harrison Bailey in sixth (21:01).
