RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club endured a mixed week after winning five and losing four of their matches this past weekend.
The Ladies first team were beaten 3-1 by Matlock Baileans but the Ladies second team romped to an 8-0 win against Warwick.
And the Ladies third team also suffered a 3-1 defeat to Leicester City whilst the only draw across all the matches came in the Men’s first clash with Hampton-in-Arden which finished 1-1.
The Men’s second and third teams both slipped to defeat, the former losing 2-1 to Coventry and North Warwick whilst the latter were beaten 5-0 by Boots.
However, the Men’s fourth and sixth teams were both victorious after they won 6-2 and 4-2 against Northampton Saints and Long Buckby respectively.
And Rugby’s mixed side stormed to a 12-0 victory against Warwick University whilst the over-50’s team won 3-2 against Hampton.

A second half goal to Laura was the only goal for Rugby as they fell to three first half goals from Leicester. Jemima earned player of the match at centre back.

Charlie Darbyshire scored for Rugby in a tight game against C&NW as Calum Mackay earned man of the match.
REWHC Men’s 3rd 0-5 Boots
A difficult game for Rugby saw them fall to Boots after losing two players the day of the game. Man of the match was shared between Mathew Nobes and Charlie Crinigan.
REWHC Men’s 4th 6-2 Northampton Saints 4th
Two goals each to man of the match Kiran Clark, David Odwell and Zachary Wenham saw Rugby cruise over Northampton.
REWHC Men’s 6th 4-2 Long Buckby 1st
Two goals to Fin Calder and one each to Freddie and Rich Hardy saw Rugby overcome a two goal deficit as they fought hard in the second half. Chris Gibson earned man of the match for his efforts in goal.
REWHC Mixed 12-0 Warwick University
4 goals to Jack Fisher, 3 to Tom Robson, 2 to Richard Cook and one each to Lil Gane, Katie Woolliscroft and Charlie Woolliscroft saw Rugby dominate Warwick. Adam Haslam earned man of the match.
REWHC O50s – 3-2 Hampton
Two goals to Richard Hardy and one for Andrew Simpson helped Rugby fight for the win in a fierce match against Hampton.
