RESULTS - Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club

RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club Ladies’ teams enjoyed another stellar week whilst the men’s teams managed just two wins from seven matches.

The Ladies’ first team eased to a 4-0 win against Ashby with the second team hammering Market Harborough 7-2 before the third team edged out Long Buckby 2-1.

And the fourth team romped to a 5-1 win against Northampton Saints to complete another perfect week of victories for all four of Rugby’s Ladies’ side’s.

However, the men’s first team were beaten 2-1 by Northampton Saints with the second team held to a 2-2 draw against Loughborough Town.




And the third team were thrashed 8-0 by Beeston before the fourth team dismantled Stratford 8-2 whilst the fifth team were beaten 3-0 by Wellingborough.

The sixth team were narrowly beaten 3-2 Warwick University before the seventh team won 4-0 against Atherstone to complete the weekend’s action.


Elsewhere, the uner-14 Girls team were also successful as they secured a 3-0 win against Beeston.

 

RESULTS

EWHC Ladies 1st 4-0 Ashby

A high event game saw Rugby score four through Evie Phillips, Nicki Siarbawa and joint players of the match Jen and Jemma whilst Le Sarge in goal saved two penalty flicks to prevent Ashby from getting in the game.

 

REWHC Ladies 2nd 7-2 Market Harborough 1st

Two goals to Lilla Gane and Ffion Purvis as well as goals to Evie Headland, player of the match Sophie and Katy saw Rugby take a convincing lead over Market Harborough.

 

REWHC Ladies 3rd 2-1 Long Buckby 1st

Two short corner goals from player of the match Kat saw Rugby stay ahead in a tight game against Long Buckby.

 

REWHC Ladies 4th 5-1 Northampton Saints 5th

A hattrick to Ellie M alongside two goals to Charlotte saw Rugby earn the win over a youthful Northampton side with a four goal second half.

 

REWHC Men’s 1st 1-2 Northampton Saints

Despite taking an early lead thanks to man of the match Andrew Walker, Rugby were unable to hold onto the lead and fell to Northampton in the second half.

 

REWHC Men’s 2nd 2-2 Loughborough Town

A game with lots of back and forth play and chances at each end saw goals to Mike White and man of the match Richard Major to keep the scores level.

 

REWHC Men’s 3rd 0-8 Beeston 3rd

A very high paced game against a well drilled Beeston side saw Rugby put in a huge defensive effort as Alex Salter earned man of the match for some key defensive plays.

 

REWHC Men’s 4th 8-2 Stratford 3rd

A pair of hattricks to Mathew Nobes and man of the match Richard Cook  as well as a pair of goals to David Manning saw Rugby comfortable ahead of Stratford.

 

REWHC Men’s 5th 0-3 Wellingborough 1st

A difficult game for Rugby with many players forced to play out of position – man of the match went to Aidan Mannion at right back.

 

REWHC Men’s 6th 2-3 Warwick University 4th

Rugby stayed in the game but were never unable to complete a comeback despite two goals from Krish. George Bell earned man of the match on his debut.

 

REWHC Men’s 7th 4-0 Atherstone 4th

Man of the match Charlie Bointon’s hattrick and some great team play for a goal from Xander sealed a great performance for Rugby.

 

REWHC G14 3-0 Beeston
