JAKE Louis was the big winner for Rugby Junior Triathlon Club in the final event of the season at the Stratford AC Junior Triathlon.
Competing in the 15-16 years youth category event, involving a 400m swim, 9.5km bike ride and a 3km run, Louis finished three minutes faster than his closest rival with a time of 39:12 to deservedly earn a gold medal.
In the Tri Star category, Jacob Hayward (10:41) and Finley Heywood (10:44) raced to finishes of fourth and fifth respectively after a 50m swim, 1.25km cycle and a 600m run, with Adrianne Hale (12:44) placing fifth in her first-ever triathlon.
Holly Allen (20:59, 11th) led the way for RJTC’s female athletes in TS1, followed by Layla Rose (21:09, 14th) and Edith Heywood (23:01, 23rd).
Will Stiles (21:51, 18th), Nate Tilt (27:34, 34th) and Aaron Morris (29:09, 35th) then completed the line-up after a 150m swim, 3.55km cycle and 1.2km run.
Siblings Sophie Sykes (52:16, 26th) and Alex Sykes (43:23, 19th) both impressed in their first triathlon in TS2, while Emily Hayward (28:18, seventh), Scarlett Sanders (29:00, eighth) and Georgia Stiles (29:23, tenth) impressed from the girls’ contingent.
George Morris (33:30, 17th) was the other club representative to take on and finish the 200m swim, 5.75km cycle and 1.8km run.
In TS3, consisting of a 300m swim, 8km cycle and 2.4km run, Luke Broomhead raced home in 40:11 to finish sixth in the boys category, while Hannah Tilt came seventh in a time of 38:32.
