GRANT Joshua wants Rugby Town to find their ‘cutting edge’ following a goalless draw against Boldmere St Michaels last weekend.
An injury-time penalty save from Valley goalkeeper Marcus Bald ensured the visitors came away from the Amber Arena with a point.
Rugby sit just two points above the Northern Premier League Midlands relegation zone.
And Joshua insists Valley must find their cutting edge soon after failing to score in any of their last three league matches.
Joshua said: “We take the point and move on, but I’m really encouraged.
“We were aggressive without the ball, and didn’t let in-form opposition dictate the game.
“We looked hungry and more confident in possession. It’s just about finding that cutting edge now.
“I couldn’t be happier for Marcus. It should give him huge confidence.
“He’s had a lot to deal with over the past month and that double save was outstanding.”
Bald kept his place in the side despite the club signing Xander Grieves on a work-experience loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Grieves picked up a knee injury in training which allowed Bald to retain the gloves as he atoned for his errors in recent matches.
Bald saved Danny O’Callaghan’s spot kick and subsequent follow-up attempt to ensure the game ended goalless.
Rugby are next in action against Lichfield City on Saturday, January 24 with kick-off at 3pm at Butlin Road.
