CARL Adams insists Rugby Town will climb out of the relegation zone by the end of the season ahead of a trip to Boldmere St Michaels this weekend.
Valley sit 19th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, three points from safety ahead of reaching the midway point of the season.
And Adams hopes he can name a settled side over the coming weeks as Rugby attempt to climb up the table.
Adams said: “It’s very tough at the moment and we are definitely not where we want to be, but we’re continuing to work hard and I honestly believe things will come good and we will have pulled ourselves away from the relegation zone come the end of the season.
“The key thing for me is to try and get a settled side out there for an extended period.
“We’ve struggled to name the same 11 players every week, and I think when we have been able to do that for a short run this season – and likewise towards the end of last season – we’ve benefited from it.
“We’ve brought in Tyreace (Brown) and Keiron (Berry) over the past few weeks, and Silvano (Obeng) is also back with us again.
“It’s important that we give this squad of players the time to gel together now, so I don’t think that bringing in others is the answer at this point.
“It will have been a tough run of league fixtures for us in the run up to Christmas with six out of seven away from home – including four opponents that are currently in top eight, but we know there are plenty more tough games coming up too and the next few weeks will be huge for us.”
Town are without Chris Clements this weekend following a minor surgical procedure although Madundo Semahimbo could return after an extended spell on the sidelines.
And Ayo Lekuti has returned to fitness after missing the last three matches through injury although the game comes too soon for Mikey Taylor who could return to training next week.
Rugby travel to Boldmere on Saturday, December 14 with kick-off at 3pm at Church Road.
