RUGBY Borough suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat against bottom club Bedworth United to lose for just the second time in the league this season.

A late goal from Tolani Omotola condemned Borough to defeat at The Oval as Rugby saw their four-game unbeaten run come to an end.

And the result means Borough sit second in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.

The game’s only goal came on 75 minutes when Omotola coolly lifted the ball past Borough goalkeeper Brandon Ganley from George Dunkley’s pass.

And Borough finished the game with 10-men after Luke Rowe received a straight red card for a late challenge on Harvey Westwood.

Rugby are next in action against Bourne Town on Saturday, October 11 with kick-off at 3pm at Kilsby Lane.
