RUGBY BOROUGH RESERVES won a seven-goal thriller 4-3 against Sileby Town thanks to a late strike from Lewis Hulley.

Hulley restored Rugby’s lead after Matt Walker, Bashi Abduwali and Charlie Whiteside had eased Borough into a three-goal advantage.

Making the trip to third place Sileby, Borough made a fast start and Walker found the back of the net from Sean Creer-Thornton’s corner.

The visitors eventually found their second goal, after a string of missed chances, when Abduwali’s left-footed effort from 20-yards out beat the Sileby goalkeeper.

And Borough trebled their lead before the break when Whiteside added to his season’s tally only for Sileby to hit back on the stroke of half-time.

The home side picked up where they left off in the second period and reduced the deficit further before Sileby completed an extraordinary comeback with 20 minutes left to play.

However, Hulley grabbed the winner with four minutes left to play with a sublime half volley which found the bottom corner to snatch the points.
