GARY Stohrer’s late goal earned Rugby Borough a point in a 1-1 home draw against play-off hopefuls Shepshed Dynamo.

Stohrer levelled the game seven minutes from time at Kilsby Lane after Aaron Korpal put Shepshed ahead early in the second period.

The result means Borough sit 14th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table.

After a goalless first period, Dynamo broke the deadlock on 49 minutes when Korpal guided a header back across goal and past Rugby’s debutant goalkeeper Marcus Bald at the back post from a tight angle.

However, Borough equalised on 83 minutes as a cut back from the right found Stohrer who saw his effort from eight-yards out deflect high into the net.

Rugby are next in action against Wellingborough Town on Saturday, February 14 with kick-off at 3pm at the Dog and Duck Ground.
