Despite the run of play being fairly even with both sides having chances, Rugby Men’s Firsts suffered a 5-0 defeat at home to Loughborough University 2nds in Midands Men’s Premier Division.
Goals from Pascal Dumont and Ben Hardy earned the Seconds a fantastic 2-1 victory against visitors Loughborough University 3rds in Midlands Men’s Division Two. Man of the match went to Tom Hollis for a strong defensive workrate throughout.
The Thirds eventually fell 2-0 at home to Ashby 1sts in Midlands Division Four East despite a strong defensive effort. Calum Mackay filled in at centre back and deservedly won man of the match.
Two set-piece goals from Matt Cartridge and a deflection for James Harrison earned Rugby Sixths a 3-1 home victory over Ashby in a solid team performance in Midlands Division Eight South East.
