RUGBY Triathlon Club are offering an early-bird discount for its Viridian Daventry Triathlon later this year, with an exclusive offer available for any fitness fanatics looking to pursue their goals this year.
The club are offering an £8 discount on the regular entry fee, running the promotion until midnight of 14th February – making it the perfect gift for Valentines Day.
Going into the eighth year of the Triathlon, which takes place on Sunday 8th September, the event annually features novices and experienced triathletes who wish to take on the challenge of completing the race, with the most ardent participants targeting the course record of 55:04, set by Jack Bond in 2015, or Emily Whitmore’s 1:04:58 finish in 2012.
Race Director at Rugby Triathlon Club Matt Hayward spoke on the promotional offer for race-entry, and believes it will only serve as a positive move by the club to gather more participants to the event.
“We are pleased to open race-entry much earlier this year and to be able to offer a significant early-bird entry discount. This should encourage people to fix the date in their diaries right from the start of the year.
“It also enables us to boost our fundraising for our two chosen charities Bloodwise and Children’s Christmas Wishlist.
“We are also very proud that local Daventry business, Viridian Nutrition has decided to back our event for the fourth year.”
The event features a sprint race in a 400m pool at Daventry Leisure Centre, before progressing into a 20km cycle through Northamptonshire’s countryside and culminating in a 5km run around the scenic Daventry Country Park.
Road closures are to be announced for the finish area, whilst all finishers will receive a t-shirt and medal, with separate medals for the various age categories.
