WARWICKSHIRE all-rounder Jacob Bethell has earned a place in England’s 16-man squad for the Ashes series later this year.
Bethell became England’s youngest-ever men’s captain on his country’s recent tour of Ireland for a series of T20 matches.
The 21-year-old forms part of a 16-man squad heading to Australia in November.
England last won the Ashes in the summer of 2015 with Australia winning and retaining the urn in each of the last four series.
And England last won the Ashes in Australia in the 2010/11 series.
After a warm-up game against the Lions, England play Australia in the first test in Perth from November 21 to 25.
The final test takes place in Sydney from January 3 to 8 next year.
