WARWICKSHIRE CCC have signed all-rounder Jordan Thompson from Yorkshire on a three-year deal.
Thompson will join the Bears at the end of the 2025 season on November 1 and will play in all formats for the county.
The 28-year-old has spent his entire career at Yorkshire and has taken 185 wickets in first-class cricket.
Thompson said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Warwickshire and starting this new chapter.
“While it was a really tough decision to leave my home county of Yorkshire, the clear vision for the club and the opportunity to play alongside a number of familiar faces make this a truly exciting move for me.
“I’m genuinely looking forward to contributing here and for this next chapter of my career at Edgbaston.”
Thompson made his debut for Yorkshire in the T20 Blast in 2018.
He has twice taken 40 wickets in a County Championship season, recording first-class best figures of 5-31 and 5-21 in the Blast.
Thompson has also scored a career high of 98 runs with the bat in first-class cricket and averages 21.94 in the longest format of the game.
Bears first team coach, Ian Westwood said: “Jordan is a three-dimensional, multi-format player who will be a great addition to our squad both on and off the field.
“He’s a quality performer who I believe still has his best days in front of him.
“He’s known for his competitiveness and thrives on being involved in big moments on the field. We can’t wait to welcome him to the Bears.”
Warwickshire’s performance director, James Thomas added: “Jordan is a great fit for Warwickshire’s ambition to build a modern, adaptable squad that’s capable of challenging for success in all formats.
“He brings proven quality in both red and white-ball cricket and valuable overseas franchise experience, which adds depth to our squad and strengthens our identity for the future.
“We’re delighted to welcome Jordan to the Bears family – a player of his calibre and character will be a fantastic asset both on and off the field.”
He has taken 15 wickets and 178 runs in five County Championship matches this season before a side strain ruled him out of action.
