WARWICKSHIRE’S men’s and women’s T20 sides will play five double-headers at Edgbaston ahead of a historic season of cricket in the Vitality Blast.
The club’s new Bears Women side will play all seven of their homes games at Edgbaston, competing as one of eight Tier 1 teams in a new-look national structure for 2025.
Bears men and women start their campaigns at Trent Bridge against Notts Outlaws and The Blaze respectively on Friday, May 30.
Both sides then entertain Durham on Saturday, May 31 for ‘Blast Off’ – which also marks the Bears family fun day.
A couple of home double headers follow on Friday, June 6 with the men to play Yorkshire Vikings and the women to play Somerset.
The two teams return to Edgbaston on Sunday, June 8 with the men in action against Derbyshire Falcons while the women entertain Lancashire Thunder.
A special ‘MidlandsMania’ double-header takes place on Saturday, June 14 at Edgbaston.
The day will begin with a clash between Derbyshire Falcons and Leicestershire Foxes before the Bears men play Notts Outlaws in an evening game.
And the Bears then host local rivals Worcestershire Rapids on Friday, June 20 in a highly-anticipated derby clash.
Bears commercial director, Adam Lowe, said: “Fixture reveal day is always a big moment in the calendar for Bears fans – and even more so this year with some exciting new additions plus all the Bears Women games to look forward to.
“Bears Women enjoyed their launch party last night and a new high performance hub at the city end of the stadium, which will include a state-of-the-art gym, is now open. There’s a real buzz around the ground as they prepare for their debut season.
“It’s brilliant that Bears Men and Women will take top billing together at Edgbaston for so many double-headers next summer.
“MidlandsMania is a new men’s showpiece double-header event, with two Midlands rivals going head to head, and our huge local derby against the Rapids has been allocated a prime Friday night slot. That will be an evening not to be missed.”
