Coventry Bees to be backed again by Buildbase

Rugby Editorial 4th Mar, 2015 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016   0

BEES will once again be backed by long-serving main sponsors Buildbase who have confirmed they are back on board for the forthcoming 2015 season.

The builders’ merchants have been firm supporters of all track activities at Brandon since first coming on board in 2004, and their backing of the senior speedway team now goes into an incredible 12th season.

The news was announced at Friday’s quiz night at Brandon, which attracted an impressive turnout of 27 teams including regional director John Clarke.

Clarke is also a regular on race-nights at Brandon and has done lots of work behind the scenes n addition to being a sponsor.

He said: “I’ve always believed that you shouldn’t go into things for the short-term, but for this sponsorship to now be going into year twelve is quite remarkable, and it just goes to show how well things have progressed and how strong the bond is between our company and the club.

“The brand exposure is important and there has been a great deal of justification for what we do, and naturally the on-track success helps too.

“Personally, I thoroughly enjoy the association with such a family-friendly sport and I know everyone will be working hard to make sure everyone enjoys their nights at Brandon this season.”

Bees promoter Mick Horton said he was delighted to welcome Buildbase on board for another year.

He added: “John was here long before I took over the club and I quickly realised the passion he has for Coventry Speedway. It is fantastic to be working with him again.

“We’ll be doing our very best to achieve more success this season and hopefully go one step further than last year by winning the Elite League title.”
