RUGBY TAMIL SANGAM hosted a badminton tournament at Rugby School Sports Centre recently to promote health and well-being.
Rehana and Fathima (Lady Birds) won the Women’s event, contested between 10 teams with Shilpa Kuruva and Reeshma Guttikonda (Smart Smashers) runners-up.
And Mohanavelu Ranganathan and Nishanth Nandakumar (Dumb Shers) won the Men’s event which was contested by 23 teams with Shamshuddin and Imran (Super Smashers) runners-up.
The Mayor of Rugby, Cllr Deepah Roberts, was in attendance at the event and presented trophies to the participants.
Several knockout rounds were played along with points based qualifying rounds before the respective finalists were confirmed.
