IT’S STORYTIME in Rugby next week when an author brings his storytelling workshop to a town centre park.
Tom the Tale Teller will entertain youngsters with stories from around the world while using various props and prompts to teach them how to create stories of their own.
Tom the Tale Teller – aka Tom Phillips – said: “To be able to read and write good stories we first need to be able to tell those stories.
“Hearing a storyteller tell stories then learning how to do this yourself in an engaging way is the keystone to good literacy and a lifetime love of stories and books.”
Christopher Hunt, from co-organiser Hunt’s Bookshop, added: “Tom is a fantastic storyteller who captivates children with enchanting tales. With parents and children able to jointly participate it’s certainly a workshop for the family to enjoy.”
The workshop takes place in the Tale Teller’s Emperor tent in Caldecott Park on Thursday August 1, from 10am to 12pm. Visit www.rugbyfirst.org to book tickets at £15 each.
