A HORSE rider died after a fall while out riding near Southam.

Liz Jackson, from Arlescote near Edge Hill, was a dedicated volunteer with the Stratford branch of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) which helps people with a disability to enjoy riding.

Mrs Jackson, wife of former Stratford District Council chairman Simon Jackson, fell while riding in Fenny Compton on Thursday morning (January 7).

When ambulance crews arrived Mrs Jackson was in traumatic cardiac arrest and life support was carried out at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, nothing could be done to save her life and she was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.”
