TWO teenagers died after the car they were in fell from a bridge onto the M1 motorway near Lutterworth.
A blue car, travelling along Gilmorton Lane towards Lutterworth, left the road bridge above the carriageway and collided with a minibus travelling southbound on the M1, shortly before junction 20, at around 1.30pm on Friday (April 10).
The two people in the car, both teenagers, were declared dead at the scene.
Four people in the minibus – a white Fiat Ducato – were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, a man, has been discharged and three women remain in hospital.
Leicestershire Police would like to hear from anyone who was driving on Gilmorton Lane or on the M1 in the area of junction 20 – in either direction – at around 1.30pm on Friday afternoon.
