Two more arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following 'horrific' broad daylight attack

DETECTIVES have arrested two more people – a 15-year-old boy and 19-year-old man – on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was seriously injured yesterday (Sunday February 7).

A man in his 20s was found with serious stab wounds in Balcombe Road, Rugby when police were called there at around 12.20pm.

Overnight, officers arrested the 15-year-old and the 19-year-old, both from Rugby.

A 21-year-old man from Rugby arrested on suspicion of attempted murder yesterday afternoon remains in custody.




The victim remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

Det Ch Insp Jon Belcher from Warwickshire Police CID said: “This was a horrific attack in broad daylight which has understandably caused a great deal of alarm in the local community.


“We are carrying out a thorough investigation and have three people in custody. There will be a high police presence in the area today and we’re continuing to appeal to the public for information that could help with our enquiries.”
