MUSIC, comedy and theatre will take centre stage at a summer festival which returns to Rugby in June.

The Festival on The Close, Rugby’s annual celebration of culture, creativity, and community, will feature stand-up comedy from award-winning comedian Sara Pascoe, a performance by beloved storyteller Michael Rosen, and live music from Amy Winehouse tribute act Absolute Amy.

Michael Rosen.

London Festival Opera will also perform a programme of world-class arias, duets, and orchestral highlights in A Night at the Opera.

Much of the five-day festival is staged at an outdoor arena at Rugby School’s famous pitch The Close, with additional events taking place across the school’s grounds and venues, from outdoor performances and interactive theatre to intimate chamber concerts and family-friendly activities.

Alongside the main stage events, the festival will continue to involve young people, offering a programme of performances and workshop opportunities for students across Warwickshire to collaborate with professional artists and explore new creative disciplines.

The festival will raise money for the Bradby Club, a charity dedicated to empowering young people in the Rugby community.

Festival Director Tim Coker said: “At its heart, the festival remains a celebration of community, supporting the work of local Rugby charity The Bradby Club and bringing people together through shared cultural experiences.

“Whether you come for the performances, the atmosphere, the food and drink, or the opportunity to be inspired, we look forward to welcoming you to The Close in 2026.”

The Festival on The Close takes place from June 20 to 25. Visit www.ticketsource.co.uk/thefestivalontheclose for more information and to book tickets.
