Thousands raised for charity at Misterton Plant, Craft and Food sale

OVER a thousand people helped raise more than £5,000 at the Lutterworth Rotary Club’s Misterton Plant, Craft and Food sale.

Amid beautiful weather in the grounds of Misterton Hall, Rotarian Bernard Johnson raised £900 for a range of charities through his DIY stall where he sold a range of tools and garden implements.

Stall holder Dorothy Greaves also raised £280, which she has donated to the work on Lutterworth town centre’s ‘Narrows’ gardens.

The event also featured the ever-popular Concours D’Elegance of Classic and Vintage Vehicles – the winners being Geoff Hamblin with his 1930 Austin Heavy 12, Graham Surman and his 1934 Riley Lynx, and Ian Robertson and his 1962 Austin Healey 3000.

Money raised will go towards charities supported by the Lutterworth Rotary Club.

Club spokesman Peter Osborn thanked everyone involved for making it such a successful day.
