The Kingsland Road boys are back in town

Rugby Editorial 2nd Jul, 2014 Updated: 27th Oct, 2016   0

THE Kingsland Road boys were back in town as they visited Connor Conaboy’s old school to put a shine on its washed-out summer fete.

The stars of last year’s X Factor performed their first single Dirty Dancer for a crowd of die-hard fans at a rain-soaked Bilton Junior School on Saturday.

It was the latest visit to the town since being voted off the TV talent show last year, and comes ahead of the release of the single on August 17 and six-date tour.

That will take Connor, Matt, Jay, Josh and Coventry’s JJ Thompson to London on August 1, Bristol on the 3rd, Birmingham on the 6th, Manchester on the 7th, Newcastle on the 8th and Glasgow on the 9th.

Their album will be out in January, but advance copies are available from pledgemusic.com where fans can also win signed CDs, be in with a chance to meet them and even have their own private gig.

Connor’s mum Vicki Street, who lives in Cawston, told us: “It was a terrible day weather-wise but great to have them here.

“Mr Edwards has been trying to get them to Bilton since they came off the show so he was delighted.

“Things are really starting to happen for them now with the single, album and tour. There are really exciting times ahead.”
