THE winner of BBC Two’s The Great British Sewing Bee has been handed a pair of bespoke sewing glasses by her opticians as a congratulations on her TV success.
Heather Jacks, who lives near Lutterworth, was presented with the spectacles by Linda Smith, one of the longest serving staff members at Edmonds and Slatter Opticians’ High Street branch where she is a customer.
Amy Coleburne from the opticians, which also has branches in Glenfield and Blaby, said: “To mark Heather’s win we thought it would be fitting to present her with an award of our own and what could be more appropriate than a beautiful pair of bespoke sewing spectacles.
“As the lenses have been tailored to a specific working distance for Heather, we hope she will continue to produce her beautiful and detailed garments using them.”
Heather hosts weekly Twitter sewing chats tagged #gosew on Tuesdays.
