Rugby Editorial 25th Sep, 2020   0

HEROIN and crack cocaine were seized by police when they arrested two suspected dealers as part of a crackdown on drug gangs.

On Tuesday (September 22), officers from Rugby’s Proactive CID team were on patrol in Leicester Road close to the junction of Consul Road in Brownsover when they stopped a vehicle that was suspected to have been involved in buying class A drugs in Birmingham.

Officers searched the vehicle and found crack cocaine and heroin.

Two men, both from Rugby, aged 39 and 44, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled class A drug with intent to supply.

The 39-year-old was released on police bail and the 44-year-old was released under investigation.

Report concerns about the supply or distribution of drugs by calling police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
