Starry-eyed pupils excel at LAMDA exams

STARRY-eyed children scored their school’s best ever London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examination results.

All 71 pupils at the Crescent School who took the exams passed – with six judged as perfect with a score of 100, and 68 achieving a distinction.

The pupils performed poems and were judged on interpretation, technique and knowledge. They had to consider their diction, expression and movement, and discussed their choices of poems with their examiner.

Drama teacher Kim Thompson said: “The LAMDA exams equip the children with communication skills which will serve them throughout life. They not only promote an appreciation of literature and poetry, but also help unlock their imagination and creative-thinking.

“These are the best LAMDA results we have ever achieved – such scores are unheard of.”
