SOFTWARE firm Green 4 Solutions Ltd which counts top French football team AS Monaco and Super Bowl finalists Denver Broncos among its clients has been handed a Queen’s Award after a global business boom.
The eight-year-old company, based on Central Park off Leicester Road, is one of around 160 firms to get the Royal honour for enterprise.
It provides software to help sports teams and leisure venues improve engagement with their fans, and has been rewarded for growing its overseas earnings by 418 per cent over in the past three years and in turn increasing exports as a percentage of its turnover from 14 per cent to 41 per cent.
Around 50 staff work at its head office as well as across Europe and the United States.
Director Peter Oliver said: “We are honoured to receive such a prestigious accolade.”
Technical director David Robinson added: “It’s been great for everyone in our business to see our products and services used so widely around the world and we’re flattered to have received recognition through the Queen’s Award.”
The Queen’s Awards were first awarded back in 1966 and are the most prestigious accolades for businesses and individuals.
This year 162 businesses have been recognised: 110 companies for international trade, 39 for innovation and 13 for benefitting the environment, society and the economy.
Caterpillar (UK) Ltd, based on Desford, was the only one other Leicestershire firm among this year’s recipients which also includes high profile employers such as Jaguar Land Rover and British Telecom.
Vince Cable, secretary of state for business, innovation and skills, said companies like Green 4 Solutions who were championing the UK overseas deserved recognition.
