School road safety petition launched in Rugby

A PETITION to improve road safety around schools in Rugby has been launched by councillors.

Warwickshire County Councillor Yousef Dahmash was joined by fellow Bilton Rugby Borough Councillors Julie A’Barrow and Chris Cade at the Bilton Junior School Summer Fayre, where they collected signatures and spoke to residents about road safety initiatives.

Coun Dahmash, who launched an online petition with MP Mark Pawsey, said: “Road safety is a huge priority for me and I am determined to do all I can to make the areas around schools in my area safer for children and parents.

“I would like to thank all of the schools in Bilton for their support with the campaign. I would also like to thank Denise Colledge and Lisa Collins, whose children attend Bilton Junior School, who did so much to help collect signatures at the Summer Fayre, and Rugby FM’s Jason Moss for his support.”
