‘SUPERSTAR’ Sienna Adderley – the five-year-old Rugby girl who kept her cool and dialled 999 while her mum was having a seizure – has been presented with a Young Epilepsy Champions Award for going above and beyond to save her mother’s life.
Sienna was presented with the award by Olympian James Cracknell at a ceremony at London’s City Hall on Thursday (March 26).
Mum Katie said: “We were thrilled when we heard Sienna was receiving an award, and there aren’t enough words to express how proud we are of her and her actions that day.
“Sienna is over the moon with her award, and I think she’ll remember this special event for a long time.”
Sienna made the vital call in January while Katie was convulsing on the kitchen floor.
Tearful at first, she told operator Tim – who was also at the ceremony – she couldn’t wake her mummy up, before clearly and calmly answering questions and providing updates about her mum’s condition.
She kept cool and took little brother Riley, 2, to safety while police and paramedics broke down their front door and brought Katie back to consciousness.
Katie added: “This is a charity we’d love to work with and support in the future, and we hope that from sharing our story it will highlight the importance of educating the young in the correct use of 999. We’re certainly glad we taught Sienna!”
