HEDGEHOGS are being given a helping hand with their hibernation by kids at a Rugby primary school.
A hedgehog home has been donated to Paddox Primary School by housebuilder Barratt Homes.
The hideaway will offer hogs the shelter and warmth they need during the colder months of the year – and will give pupils a chance to observe and learn about the habits of hedgehogs from a safe distance.
Headteacher Jane Le Poidevin said: “We very much appreciate the donation of a hedgehog home here at Paddox. This gift will come in great use for our forest school lessons as our children can observe and monitor the resident hedgehogs.”
Hedgehogs were added to the ‘Red List’ for British mammals in 2020, meaning they are vulnerable to extinction.
