SAFETY-conscious residents are wanted to help children safely on their journeys to and from school.
Warwickshire County Council (WCC) is looking to fill full-time and relief School Crossing Patrol vacancies in Rugby, Leamington, Kenilworth, Nuneaton and Polesworth.
The paid positions are ideal for people who may have other working commitments, or those who may be seeking job satisfaction in a fulfilling and important role.
WCC safety spokesman Coun John Horner said School Crossing Patrols play a vital role in keeping children safe.
He said: “We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who might be interested in a new career and from anyone who feels they could benefit from flexible working hours and thrive on job satisfaction.
“No previous experience is needed, all we ask for is for applicants who are self-motivated and are keen to help make children and communities safer.”
Applicants must live close to the school crossing patrol site and be over 18. Positions are term time only and will operate during the school run hours – and come with competitive pay, a uniform and full training.
The recruitment campaign launches as part of an ongoing national road safety movement to address a shortage of patrols.
