Rugby Music Festival tunes up for ‘biggest year yet’

Rugby Editorial 30th Jul, 2022   0

A FESTIVAL showcasing Rugby’s musical talent returns to the town for its ‘biggest year yet’ on August Bank Holiday Monday.

The Rugby Music Festival, hosted by Rotary Club Dunsmore, will shine a spotlight on the region’s new and established talent from an open-air stage in Caldecott Park.

Over a dozen local acts will perform throughout the day, including Duke’s Jetty, The Ben Holder Jazz Quartet, and teenage singer-songwriter Ezza Brianna, the winner of Rugby’s Got Talent 2022.

Fairground rides will keep young children entertained, while local vendors will provide food and drink.

The event will be sponsored by the developers at Houlton, the new neighbourhood taking shape on the old radio mast site to the east of Rugby.

Kyle Smith from Houlton master developers Urban&Civic said: “We’re delighted to be supporting this year’s event for the fifth year. With live music suffering a devastating setback in the last couple of years due to pandemic restrictions, it was more important than ever this year that Houlton was able to throw its support behind the cause and bring the event back for its biggest year yet.

“It’s always so important to us that we support local talent and business, and this event is a great example of the magic that can be created when the two come together.

“We have a longstanding partnership with the Rotary Club of Rugby Dunsmore and relish supporting this fantastically well-established event, which is so well-loved across the community. It gets everybody excited and is an unmissable event in the annual calendar.”

The festival takes place on Monday August 29. Visit www.ticketsource.co.uk/rugby-music-festival to book tickets in advance, at £5 each. All proceeds go to local good causes.
