A HIGH-FLYING former student of Rugby High School has been awarded a bursary to help with her studies at Cambridge University.
Natalie Chapman received a £3,000 boost from exam board OCR to support her studies in Classics.
Along with 12 others, the former A-Level student received the bursary – to help with living or tuition costs – during a presentation in Coventry.
The bursary gives them £3,000 for each year of their undergraduate studies.
Head of Sixth Form Mireille Everton said Natalie had proved a dedicated classicist during her time at school and made the most of any opportunities to support her learning.
The 18 year-old said: “I am very grateful to OCR for the financial support it has offered me at a time of rising tuition fees and a growing burden of debt for students. I am so happy and excited to attend Cambridge University; hopefully this bursary will provide opportunity and allow me to make the most of my time there.”
Now in its 14th year, the OCR bursary was set up to help students in the West Midlands to make the most of their studies at Cambridge.
