Rugby artists to hold open-air exhibition

Rugby Editorial 15th Jun, 2021   0

AN OPEN-air exhibition by a group of local artists will be held over the coming weekends.

In The Mix – comprising Rugby artists IJE, Anita Davies and Carol Wheeler – will display artwork of all shapes and sizes in and around IJE’s garden studio.

Described by the artists as a safe way to see local art this summer, the Warwickshire Open Studios event will allow space to browse the trio’s paintings, assemblage, collages, ceramics, hand-made beads, quilling, sculpture, ecoprinted scarves, hand-made greetings cards and more.

Carol said: “Our work will be throughout the garden, inside the studio and a gazebo. We will monitor numbers of visitors and expect social distancing to be observed. Doors to the studio will remain open and hand sanitisers will be available, and masks may need to be worn.

“We are very happy to discuss commissioning your own artworks, and for you to watch us and chat while we work. All works bought at the event will be free from gallery fees.”

The exhibition takes place at IJE’s studio at 34, Selborne Road in Bilton on June 19-20, June 25-26 and July 2-4.

Private viewings can be booked by contacting IJE on 07738 824570.
