THE ROMANS march into Rugby Art Gallery and Museum this week for All Hail Caesar – a Night At Your Museum.
Visitors can step back in time on Friday (May 17) and explore life in Roman times, with a programme of entertainment and arts and crafts activities.
Visitors can learn about the rotten Romans and get the wrong end of the stick in the Roman toilet, visit the museum’s Market Street and see some genuine Roman artefacts, watch Roman crafts people demonstrating their trade, and create a Roman coin or wreath head-dress.
They will also be able to give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down to Roman gladiators fighting for honour.
The theme draws on Rugby’s connection to the Tripontium Roman settlement located on nearby Watling Street.
Night at Your Museum starts at 5.30pm and runs until 9.30pm.
Tickets cost £2.50 per person for up to two hours in the Art Gallery and Museum, with admission times at 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets can be booked online at www.ragm.co.uk or by calling (01788) 533217. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Visit www.ragm.co.uk for more information.
