POLICE are looking to speak to this woman in connection with a robbery in Rugby.

A 63-year-old woman was walking past Parriss Jewellers on Regent Street around 1pm on Thursday May 7 when she was approached from behind by another woman.

She attempted to grab the woman’s handbag and in doing so, caused her to fall to the ground between two parked cars.

The robber, who is described as being of slim build, in her 20s and with long, dark brown hair, then fled empty-handed in an unknown direction.

She was wearing a hooded beige coat, a pink skirt and blue leggings at the time of the incident.

DC Steve Mobbs, the investigating officer, said: “We wish to speak with the woman circled in the image in connection with the incident and ask her or anyone who recognises her to come forward.

“The CCTV also shows many members of the public in the area who may have witnessed the incident and I encourage anyone who is able to help us with inquiries to contact police.

“Notably, this incident occurred on the general election polling day, so the public may remember if they were on this street at the time.”

The victim did not sustain serious injuries but was left shaken and distressed by the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
