Police issue warning after man spotted crossing live railway track to graffiti bridge

Rugby Editorial 9th Feb, 2021   0

A WARNING has been issued by police after a man was spotted crossing a live railway track.

A man was seen graffitiing Bridge D near the Crick and Kilsby bridleway on Monday (February 8) at around 12.15pm.

When he was spotted, he ran into the adjacent field, climbed the palisade security fencing, crossed the live London Midland railway track and then the adjacent live rail sidings.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesperson said: “Trespassing onto the railway track is extremely dangerous and people who do so are putting themselves at risk of electrocution. Please don’t take the risk.”

The man, thought to be in his 30s, was wearing a blue checked lumberjack-style shirt, grey combat-style trousers and a black beanie hat, and was carrying a lightweight drawstring bag.

Anyone who recognises the description of the man, or who knows anyone who may use the pictured graffiti tag, is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
