Police appeal for witnesses after man reportedly stabbed in Rugby

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a reported stabbing in Rugby this afternoon (Monday May 9).

Emergency services were called to Potsford Road in Cawston at around 3.30pm following a report a man in his 60s had been stabbed.

A man in his early 60s was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. There were no other reported injuries.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding and is currently in police custody.




Det Con Beverley Ward from Warwickshire Police said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident and enquiries are ongoing. A scene guard is currently in place while forensic examination takes place.”
