A MAN and a woman appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Monday (January 13) charged with the murder of a 13-month-old girl.
The girl died in hospital on Tuesday January 7 after being taken ill at a house in Rugby.
The 26-year man and 24-year-old woman, both from Rugby, have been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child. The man was also charged with possession of indecent images.
The two will next appear at Warwick Crown Court on February 14.
At the hearing, a reporting restriction was put in place preventing the publication of anything that could identify the defendants, the victim and others linked to the case.
A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: “We would like to remind people that anyone publishing any information on social media that identifies the defendants, the victim or other linked to the case may be in contempt of court.”
