AN OLYMPIC medalist has visited Stratford to mentor young athletes.
More than 300 athletes from across the country visited Stratford Leisure Centre to train with sprint and hurdle silver medalist Colin Jackson.
Sporty participants also hoped to walk away with sponsorship under leisure operator Everyone Active’s Sporting Champions scheme, which offers funding up to £5,000 to help towards training equipment, travel and competition costs.
Scheme Ambassador, Colin Jackson said: “I am delighted I was able to host Everyone Active’s Sporting Champions scheme very first mentoring session at Stratford Leisure Centre.
“It was truly inspiring to speak to athletes of all ages about their sporting experiences, and I hope that the event provided them with a whole-host of skills that will help guide them through their sporting careers.”
