Nursery children and staff say fond farewell at 'bittersweet' graduation ceremony

BITTERSWEET celebrations took place at a Rugby nursery as pre-schoolers marked the end of their time there with a special graduation ceremony.

Dressed in traditional mortar boards, gowns and their best party clothes, children from Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston were given scrolls of achievement in front of a proud audience of parents, carers and practitioners.

They were then sent-off in style with a summer garden party and picnic.

During the event, children performed Boogie Mites songs that they had been eagerly rehearsing during sessions in nursery, as well as enjoying dancing, face painting, a glitter tattoo station and a homemade lunch with friends and family.

Nature Trails Business Administrator Georgina Ross-Barnard said: “We are so proud of our amazing pre-schoolers and all they have achieved during their time at Nature Trails.

“The graduation ceremony was a wonderful way to celebrate their journey and mark this special milestone, surrounded by the people who have supported them every step of the way. We wish them all the very best as they take their next steps into school life.”
