NEW tourism signs have been installed on the outskirts of Lutterworth to improve tourism and pride of place.
Harborough District Council (HDC) says the familiar brown signs more accurately reflect what is on offer in the market town, encouraging passers-by to stop off and use facilities and services.
Several highways directional signs near the town have also been updated and refreshed.
Coun Jo Asher, HDC’s spokesperson for Culture, Leisure, Economy and Tourism, said: “We are pleased to work with Leicestershire Highways Authority to improve the signage.
“Our market towns are really worthwhile places to visit and experience, and there’s plenty of choices of great places to eat, drink and stay over.
“Supporting the vibrancy of our town centres to boost the local economy is an important priority of ours.”
